On Monday, October 26, 2026, Perkiomen Valley Trout Unlimited volunteers joined up with volunteers from First Energy Corp, the Berks County Conservation District and the Penn State Master Watershed Stewards for Tree Maintenance and Tree Planting along the West Branch of the Perkiomen Creek at Longacres Farm in Barto, PA.
Trees in Riparian Areas along streams and rivers help to purify water/stormwater runoff, recharge aquifers, prevent flooding and improve wildlife habitat.
A special Thanks goes out to First Energy volunteers Robert Segeda, Nancy Droneburg, Logan Drake and Carlixta De Larosa.
Also, thanks to David Osgood of the Berks County Conservation District and Matt Neumaier from the Penn State Master Watershed Stewards.
The PVTU volunteers were Sue/Jim Coffey, Mark/Deb Stannard, Jeff Arner, Jim Brennan, Andy Toombs, Craig Bardman, Eric Frankhouser, and Brian McElroy.
Great job everyone!
