VOLUNTEERS NEEDED – Tree Maintenance – Green Lane Park (Spring 2026)

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR TREE MAINTENANCE
Green Lane Park – Spring 2026
Volunteers Needed! The Perkiomen Valley Chapter of TU is looking for volunteers to assist with tree maintenance at 3 sites on Perkiomen Creek in Green Lane Park.
This work is part of our ongoing Tree Planting & Riparian Buffer work as a chapter at several of our stream restoration sites. Our fearless leader in this regard, Jim Coffey, has helped organize this for years to reduce tree mortality until they’re large enough to fend for themselves. But he can’t do all the maintenance work himself, so WE NEED YOUR HELP!
When: Thursday, April 23, 9am-11am
Where:Heffner Lane, Upper Hanover Township – meet at 40.374754 -75.523463 (click link for Google Map)
What to bring: We will be using weed whackers and small pruning shears to clear vegetation
around small trees. We will also need shovels for planting new trees if necessary. Volunteers should bring their own lunches, water/drink, work gloves. If volunteers have a weedwhacker, small pruning shears and shovels they could bring, that would be helpful.
For qusetions, please contact Jim Coffey at coffey302@comcast.net or 267-733-7153.
ALL VOLUNTEERS WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!
