Perkiomen TU Partners Up to Help Our Streams!
The Perkiomen Chapter of Trout Unlimited teamed up with multiple organizations to plant 100
trees in a flood plain along the West Branch of the Perkiomen Creek on October 19 th and 21 st ,
2020. The trees were obtained from a grant received from the Keystone Ten Million Tree
Partnership. Volunteers from Perkiomen TU worked with volunteers from Aqua PA, Merck and
the Montgomery County Conservation District to plant the Trees. Riparian Forests promote
groundwater recharge, stabilize streamflow, filter storm water runoff, prevent flooding, lower
stream temperatures, improve water quality and provide habitat for wildlife.
