Planting tree stakes to aid in protecting the stream bank against erosion as well as shading the stream
“In the interest of Conservation, Mark Stannard, Dwight Gehman and Tom Smith assisted Kent Himelright, Berks County Watershed Coordinator, in the planting of 100 tree stakes on Tuesday, April 23rd, on Valley Run at Creamery Road, in Berks County, adjacent to Rt. 100. The trees included Silky Dogwood, Red Arrowwood, Sycamores & Willows, and will aid in protecting the stream bank against erosion as well as shading the stream, which is important in that Valley Run ultimately flows into the Perkiomen Creek.”
