VOLUNTEERS NEEDED – Macroinvertebrate & Water Quality Study SPRING 2026

WHAT: It’s time for citizen science! Join us as we analyze the health of the Perkiomen Creek at two locations where PVTU has done stream restoration work. Help Perkiomen Valley Trout Unlimited monitor the upper reaches of the Perkiomen Creek, helping keep it clean for residents and all the creatures that depend on the Perkiomen Creek for their sustenance. We will do our semi-annual chemical testing and macroinvertebrate (stream bugs!) sampling. No experience necessary. We can teach you how to do any part of the analysis that you want to participate in. The only prerequisite is a desire to get out to the creek and help take care of our waterways. 

WHEN: Friday June 5th, 9:00AM – 1:00PM

WHERE: We will meet at Camelot Park in the Parking Lot past the soccer field (1124 Church Rd, East Greenville, PA 18041). Then we will move to the dam removal area also on Church road (1023 Goschenhoppen Church Rd)

WHAT TO BRING: Lunch/snack; Water; Boots/Waders for venturing into the creek (We will also have analysis activities that don’t require getting into the creek).
