PVTU Wins Berks County Conservation Service 2022 Organization of the Year Award

The Berks County Conservation District’s (BCCD) Conservation Service Individual or Organization of the Year Award is given to the individual or organization that has made an exceptional contribution to the conservation of Berks County’s soil, water and related natural resources; and without their contributions the quality of the natural resources of the County would be diminished.

In 2022 the BCCD Conservation Service Award named Perkiomen Valley Trout Unlimited their “Organization Of The Year”.  The chapter was honored at the BCCD Award Banquet in Oley, PA. The award recognized the completion of two conservation projects within the county and the Chapter’s ongoing leadership with Trout in the Classroom within several schools in the county. The conservation projects were 1) Stream Restoration of Valley Run (Tributary to the Perkiomen Creek) on the Ehst Farm, Rt 100, Washington Township, performed in partnership with BCCD, and 2) Restoration of the West Branch Perkiomen Creek, Phase 1, on the Longacre Farm, Rt. 100 Washington Township. Partial funding was received from the BCCD for the West Branch project.
