It’s that time of year again! PVTU needs YOUR HELP with the grand finale of our Trout In the Classroom (“TIC”) initiative for 2026!
We have 5 schools doing a “release day” for their TIC program. The trout fry that the students raised are released into local creeks. The students then rotate through stations learning about fly tying, fly casting, stream macroinvertebrates, riparian areas, and more.
We need volunteers for teaching FLY CASTING LESSONS to students. Don’t worry, you don’t need to be an expert – we even let Derek do it, and he casts like a drunk orchestra conductor. Each event needs anywhere from 4-6 volunteers, so please check to see if you can help with these dates and times!
